Monthly Review¶
Outcome Evaluation
Purpose¶
The Monthly Review exists to:
- Evaluate outcome progress
- Adjust timelines
- Reflect on energy patterns
This is where you zoom out from tasks to see if outcomes are actually moving.
When¶
- Once per month
- 30–60 minutes
- End of month or beginning of next

Step 1 — Review Outcome Progress¶
For each active outcome:
- Has progress been made?
- Is the deadline still realistic?
- Are KPIs tracking as expected?
Step 2 — Identify Stalled Outcomes¶
Look for outcomes that haven't moved in weeks.
Ask:
- Is this still important?
- Is something blocking it?
- Does it need to be rescoped or retired?
Step 3 — Evaluate Deadlines¶
For outcomes with deadlines in the next 1–2 months:
- Are they still achievable?
- Do they need adjustment?
- Is there hidden work not yet captured?
Step 4 — Reflect on Energy¶
This month:
- Where did energy go?
- What felt sustainable?
- What felt draining?
- Were there patterns in avoidance?
Step 5 — Adjust for Next Month¶
Based on what you learned:
- Update deadlines
- Rescope outcomes
- Add or remove work units
Key Questions¶
- Which outcomes progressed?
- Which stalled?
- Were deadlines realistic?
- What patterns emerged?
Output¶
A brief monthly note capturing:
- Progress summary
- Adjustments made
- Energy observations
This feeds into quarterly reviews.
Closing¶
The monthly review is where outcomes get honest attention.
If outcomes are stalling, this is where you catch it early.
